B&B Simonetta

You will enjoy the superb location of our Bed and Breakfast. It lies within meters of the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel and is about a 5 minute walk to St. Peter’s Square. The historical center, Campo de’ Fiori and Piazza Navona are reachable in 30 minutes by foot from the B&B. Busses and a subway stop (LINE A) are in the immediate neighborhood to connect you to every part of the city, day and night.

All services and amenities are available in the neighborhood including an internet point, grocery store, restaurants, pharmacy, cafes, laundry mat, pubs, and ATM machines.
An Italian style breakfast is served each morning. Guests are served cereals, fresh seasonal fruits, warm croissants with jam and butter, and coffee, tea, milk, and fresh squeezed orange juice.
The flat has three types of rooms. There is a full room with an in- suite bathroom, a single room with a shared bathroom, and a triple room (one double bed and one single bed in the same room) with a private bath. The beds are comfortable providing guests with a good rest after touring.
Keys to the flat and rooms are provided for guests to facilitate easy coming and going. The English speaking hostess will be happy to provide guests with information and assistance to assure them a pleasant holiday in Rome.

The rooms of the B&B

In the apartment there are 3 confortable rooms, a kitchen and a breakfast room. We also have a outside space, a garden to relax for our guests.

My family history

I come from a family with deep ties to Rome. My father, Bernardo, grew up in one of the oldest areas of Rome, called the Borgo which is close to Vatican City.

My mother was also born here. Together my parents introduced my brother and me to the true Rome which is rich in custom and tradition. On Sundays we strolled to the Gianicolo where we heard the Austrian cannon fire a blank shot into the air exactly at 12 o’clock.

The significance of this ritual is that all of the churches in Rome can then set their bells to ring at the same time. Even today, when I hear the cannon shot, I glance at my watch to check its accuracy.

In Rome we are blessed to breathe the Ponentino. The Ponentino is a slight west wind, a sea breeze that blows through Rome most of the year. It is a gentle wind that is responsible for coolness in the summer evening. It induces Romans to rest, dine, stroll, explore, and love.
